Staff and residents at Bradley Hall care home in Leicester are inviting local football fans into their home to watch the World Cup matches in their plush cinema room.
Guests are welcome to cheer on their favourite teams with the care home’s residents, who have decorated the cinema with flags from around the world in preparation for the tournament.
73-year-old Scotland-born resident, John Murty, said, ‘I’ve lived in England for many years, and I’ll certainly be watching the World Cup games and cheering everyone on!’
The Bradley Hall kitchen team will provide snacks and refreshments for any visitors who come to take in a match.
Lee Daly, the Home Manager at Bradley Hall, said, ‘We’ve spent some time this year setting up various events for people in our local community, and we wanted to find more ways to help those around us during the cost-of-living crisis.
‘Football brings people together, no matter their background or circumstances, and that’s what we are trying to do.’
