Woodthorpe Lodge care home, located on John Boden Way in Loughborough, has been given an outstanding score of 100% in their recent Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) audit.

Performed by Leicester County Council, the IPC audit reviewed three areas of practice in the care home – environmental cleanliness, IPC practice and governance.

Woodthorpe Lodge, operated by Ideal Carehomes, passed the audit with flying colours, scoring 100% in each category.

The audit report stated that the standards of cleanliness in the care home were ‘exceptional’ and complimented the ‘perfect condition’ of the home’s décor and furnishings.

The staff at Woodthorpe Lodge were commended for the support and encouragement they offer, so that their residents could retain their independence. Residents were also found to have detailed, person-centred care plans in place.

In the resulting IPC audit letter, Senior Infection Prevention and Control Advisor, Helen Goalby, said, ‘All the staff and management team should be praised for all of their hard work and attention to detail.’
