Sedgley Court care home in Dudley are gearing up to throw a celebration to remember for resident, Hazel Clay, who turns 100-years-old on 24th March.
Warley-born Hazel, who used to work in a bakery and teach Sunday School in Handsworth, moved into Sedgley Court in March 2022 to be closer to family, is looking forward to her milestone birthday.
The staff at Sedgley Court are asking the public to send Hazel 100 birthday cards, as well as planning a ten-day countdown of surprise activities and treats in the run up to Hazel’s birthday.
On the big day, Hazel will spend time with family and friends before her birthday party at Sedgley Court, with live entertainment and refreshments.
Commissioning Director at Sedgley Court, Maria Taylor, said, ‘Since Hazel moved in to Sedgley Court, she’s become such a big part of our family, and we’ve really enjoyed getting to know everything about her.
‘We’re so excited to celebrate this milestone birthday with Hazel, and with a bit of help from our friends and the community, we can make Hazel’s 100th birthday one to remember.’
