Haywood Lodge care home in Studley are doing their bit for the community by offering weekly home-cooked lunches for over 65’s in the area, free of charge.
From 13:00 every Thursday afternoon, the over 65s community will be welcomed to Haywood Lodge by residents and staff for lunch and a game of bingo, to support those looking to connect with likeminded people and build new friendships.
Georgia Cooney, the Home Manager at Haywood Lodge, said,
‘With the cost of living increasing, we’re aware that some may be having a tough time. This is our way of offering a helping hand to our local community, and we hope it gives them something to look forward to each week.’
88-year-old resident, Beryl Stevenson, added,
‘I’m very pleased, it’ll be lovely to meet some new people and I hope having a nice homely meal with us will help others. They’ll be very welcome to join us.’

On Saturday 6th May, staff and residents at Haywood Lodge will also be inviting their community to a Kings Coronation Street Party, to mark King Charles III ascension to the throne.
From 13:00, guests are welcome to enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, fun and games to celebrate this monumental occasion.
