Residents and staff members from Hambleton Grange care home in Thirsk thanked their local NHS workers recently, in honour of the NHS 75th anniversary.
Visiting local GPs and an ambulance station, Hambleton Grange handed out delicious homemade cakes to the key workers they met to show their appreciation for the care they provide to the community.
As well as delivering treats to local key workers, Hambleton Grange also invited visiting nurses to enjoy a hot breakfast sandwich and a drink in the home. District Nurse, Vicky Shepherd, said, ‘It is so lovely to be thanked.’
92-year-old resident, Maureen Green, said, ‘I only have good memories of the NHS. They were there for me in the early years when the service first started, I had my two children in Northallerton Maternity Home in the early 1950s. The NHS has been very good to me.’
The Home Manager at Hambleton Grange, Sandra Anderson, added, ‘The NHS provide invaluable support to our residents and our community – this was our way of thanking them for everything they do, and supporting them in return.
‘We hope everyone enjoyed their treats from all at Hambleton Grange!’
