Residents from Rivendell View care home, operated by Ideal Carehomes, put their crafting skills to the test when they entered the Stoke Bardolph Scarecrow Festival competition.
The residents chose to create four scarecrows, each representing a member of The Beatles. Lisa Tungate, the Home Manager at Rivendell View, said,
‘The residents chose The Beatles because our garden this year has a ‘Flower Power’ theme, which we’ve all been working on together for Ideal Carehomes’ Gardens in Bloom competition.’
Gardens in Bloom is an annual competition run throughout all Ideal Carehomes to engage our teams, residents and the local community in creating wonderful outside spaces for everyone to enjoy. Lisa continued,
‘The scarecrows are a fantastic addition to our garden this year, and it was great to see so many people from the community visit Rivendell View to see them.’
90-year-old resident, Janet Watchorn, added, ‘I’ve really enjoyed making the scarecrows, we’ve had a wonderful time doing them. It’s a shame we didn’t win this time, but fingers crossed for next year!’
