Ashworth Grange Care Home Celebrate ‘GOOD’ Rating in CQC Inspection

Ashworth Grange care home in Dewsbury, operated by Ideal Carehomes, has been rated ‘GOOD’ in a recent inspection by healthcare standards inspectors, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Opened in 2012, Ashworth Grange was inspected on two lines of enquiry, Safe and Well-Led, and was rated ‘GOOD’ on both, giving Ashworth Grange a ‘GOOD’ rating across all five lines of enquiry.

During the visit CQC inspectors observed the residents’ experiences in the home. They spoke to several residents, their families, and staff members, seeking feedback on the lifestyle the care home offers.

In the resulting report from the CQC, Ashworth Grange was found to create an ‘open and positive culture which was person centred and achieved good outcomes’ for residents.

One resident at Ashworth Grange commented, ‘I live life to the full. The staff are marvellous and kind’, with another adding ‘I have all I need here. The staff are very nice, and I can do what I want.’

Upon speaking to residents’ relatives and loved ones, one person told the inspectors, ‘[Name] is very well looked after. The staff are very hard workers, they go above and beyond. I am so happy with the care [Name] is getting here.’

Staff members at Ashworth Grange said they feel ‘happy and supported in their roles’, and ‘spoke positively about the registered manager’. One staff member commented, ‘I love it here. I have high standards for my own work and so do [the staff at Ashworth Grange].’
