‘No One Should Feel Alone at Christmas’ – Celebrate Christmas at Kings Court Care Home

Residents and staff members from Kings Court care home in Newark are inviting older people into their home on Christmas Day and Boxing Day to enjoy a hot meal and festive celebrations.

According to Age UK, a leading charity who help millions of older people find support, companionship, and advice, almost 1.5 million older people feel lonelier at Christmas than any other time of the year.

In hopes of making sure no one spends the festive season alone, the residents and staff at Kings Court are encouraging over 65s in the community to spend the day with them.

Tarnya Fairburn, the Home Manager at Kings Court, said, ‘No one should feel alone, least of all at Christmas. Our incredible residents and team members want to open their hearts to older people in and around Newark who may find Christmas to be a difficult time.

‘Our guests will be able to relax and enjoy delicious homemade food, in the company of likeminded people. We want people to feel welcome as part of our Kings Court family this Christmas!’

Councillor Johno Lee from Newark and Sherwood District Council added, ‘Kings Court is truly going above and beyond with their community engagement efforts. Their Christmas and Boxing Day Lunch is a shining example of their commitment to putting communities before profit.
