Residents from Hepworth House care home in Wakefield have launched a weekly crafts and coffee morning group, the Knitwits.
Every Tuesday at 10:30 from 5th March, all are welcome to bring along any crafting project they’re working on, have a hot drink and a cake, and enjoy some quality creative time with the residents at Hepworth House.
90-year-old resident, Norma Lazenby, said, ‘I love to knit and be creative, and I like to see what other people can create as well.
‘I’m a very sociable person and I enjoy meeting new people, so I look forward to sharing my skills as well as learning new ones from everyone else.’
Helen Batty, the Home Manager at Hepworth House, added, ‘The idea of the Knitwits coffee morning is to foster a sense of community and creativity. We want to provide a platform for people to come together, share ideas and enjoy each other’s company.
‘This type of social gathering promotes relaxation, mental wellbeing, and the development of new skills. It introduces a supportive space combine artistry and comradery, and we’re excited to see everyone’s talents.’
All are welcome to join the Knitwits coffee morning every week from 5th March at Hepworth House care home, City Field Court, Stanley, Wakefield, WF3 4NG.
