Loughborough Care Home Delivers Toys to Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Children’s Ward
Woodthorpe Lodge care home visited Leicester Royal Infirmary’s children’s ward recently to donate a hamper of toys, arts and crafts collected by the staff, residents and community members in the home.
The donation came as part of Woodthorpe Lodge’s extensive community outreach initiatives, which also includes family-fun events that are open to the public such as the home’s upcoming Summer Fete and Market on 27th July.
88-year-old Woodthorpe Lodge resident, Margaret Moult, said, ‘It’s important to support the people in the hospital to let them know that we care about them.’
Representatives at Leicester Royal Infirmary greatly appreciated the hamper, and later sent a certificate of thanks to Woodthorpe Lodge which read,
‘Thank you so very much for the extremely kind donation that you made. Your selflessness has helped to make the children’s hospital stay much brighter and happier with the amazing activities that you brought to the ward.’
Kate Day, the Home Manager at Woodthorpe Lodge, added, ‘Community is very important to everyone at Woodthorpe Lodge, which is why we’re always looking for ways we can support others, just as our community has supported us.
‘We’re also looking forward to bringing our neighbours together during our Summer Fete and Market. All are welcome!’
Woodthorpe Lodge’s Summer Fete and Market will take place in the home’s gardens on Saturday 27th July from 11:00. Guests will be able to enjoy stalls from local businesses, live entertainment, a BBQ, a bouncy castle and lots of fun and games.
