Woodland View care home in Droitwich is gearing up to take part in Worcester Carnival on Saturday 6th July as sponsors of the event for the second year and is inviting community members to join them in creating Woodland View’s carnival float.
Residents and staff members at Woodland View are looking forward to designing and decorating their float this year and want others to join them every Tuesday from 16:00-18:00 to help bring their designs to life.
Lisa Dews, the Home Manager at Woodland View, said, ‘We’re all about community at Woodland View, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring people together.
‘All are welcome to join us in making this year’s Woodland View float the best yet. We’ll be providing light refreshments for everyone, so please come along and share your ideas.’
Adam Bullock from the Worcester Carnival Team said, ‘We are looking forward to thousands of people coming into Worcester to visit, with activities, food, craft and local charities plus stage entertainment from 11am to 7pm, and the parade around the city centre at 3pm.’
‘We’re thrilled that Woodland View is returning as one of our main sponsors this year, helping us to showcase the best that our city has to offer. The passion that Woodland View staff has for their community is evident, so we are really pleased to build on this partnership.’
89-year-old Woodland View resident, Barbara Clayton, is looking forward to taking part in the carnival. Barbara added, ‘I’m happy to see our community brought together with the carnival. I’m glad to be able to help with any float preparations!’
