Loughborough Care Home Celebrate Fifth Year of Caring for Community
Residents and staff from Woodthorpe Lodge care home celebrated the home’s fifth anniversary with a party to remember, joined by family, friends, and the local community.
Opening its doors in 2019, with the help of Strictly Come Dancing’s Flavia Cacace, Woodthorpe Lodge has since become a pillar of the community, caring for it’s residents with dignity and respect whilst also regularly welcoming neighbours for exciting events.
During the fifth anniversary party, celebrations were in full swing, with live music, dancing, and plenty of delicious refreshments.
88-year-old Christine Gunn who moved to Woodthorpe Lodge in November 2023 said, ‘I’ve met good friends here, and the staff all care for us. You really can’t beat this home; the décor is bright and we’re all very well looked after.
‘It’s also very nice to know I’m going to have my hair styled regularly in the salon, and a lot of the ladies here feel the same.’
Kate Day, the Home Manager at Woodthorpe Lodge, added, ‘It’s been such a pleasure to watch Woodthorpe Lodge blossom into the warm and welcoming home it is today. The relationships built between residents, team members, and the community over the last five years are truly incredible, and we can’t wait to see what the next five years bring!’
You can meet Christine, Kate and everyone at Woodthorpe Lodge at the home’s Move Mobility class every Friday at 11:00. The class is free of charge and there is no need to book.
