Join Droitwich Care Home for Thanksgiving Meal to Celebrate Edward Winslow Day!
Woodland View care home in Droitwich Spa is inviting people in the local community to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast on Thursday 28th November, in celebration of Edward Winslow Day.
Edward Winslow was the Pilgrim Father who set sail on The Mayflower on 16th September 1620. A leader in the Separatist group and a skilful diplomat, Winslow was instrumental in organising the journey to America and was also one of the men who signed the historic Mayflower Compact.
Various celebrations are taking place in Droitwich Spa in Winslow’s honour, including Woodland View’s community Thanksgiving feast.
Local historian, Howard Robinson, will also offer a presentation and talk on Winslow’s part in the first ever Thanksgiving in 1621.
Abigail Hargreaves, the Front of House Manager at Woodland View, said, ‘The history of Droitwich Spa is rich, and we feel it is important to pay tribute to our local history in any way we can.
‘All are welcome to our Thanksgiving feast, but places are limited, so please call us to book your seat.’
