Maria began working in the care industry over 16 years ago, initially managing staff deployment and training within a large care home. Maria’s career quickly progressed as she was promoted to Unit Manager, Deputy Manager and then Home Manager. Prior to this, Maria has also worked as an Accident and Emergency health care assistant at a local hospital.
Over the last 6 years, Maria has worked at director level, ensuring that each home within her remit is providing the highest standards of person-centred care. Maria joined Ideal Carehomes in 2020 as Regional Director for two commissioning homes, Launton Grange in Bicester and Sedgley Court in Dudley and her vision is to see these homes making a difference for their new residents right from the start. Nothing makes Maria smile more than seeing happy residents.
Maria is a dedicated leader and encourages individualism within her teams to promote person-centred care. She is a ‘carer’s champion’ and understands the pride and satisfaction that care staff feel from caring for others.In her spare time, Maria likes to keep active and enjoys sports such as rugby and running. Maria is a regular marathon runner, having completed the Birmingham half marathon 3 times along with several fun runs such as the Tough Mudder and Race for Life. In April 2020 Mairia hopes to tackle an 11k ‘Poppy Run’ in honour of Remembrance Sunday.
