100% of Staff at New Luxury Cannock Care Home Receive Covid-19 Vaccine Ahead of Opening to New Residents
As NHS England report on average around 20% of care home staff across the country are not vaccinated, the newly appointed care team at residential and dementia care home, Littleton Lodge, are pleased that every single member of staff has now received their first dose of the vaccine.
Home Manager, Rachel Ellis, said, ‘As care providers, our team understands the huge responsibility we have to our future residents and ensuring their safety from this virus is of upmost importance. To see a 100% staff uptake of the vaccine just shows the dedication and caring nature of our team’.
‘It was understandable that some team members were nervous about the jab, however, we were able to chat at length about their concerns and we have lots of reassuring information, so they were able to make an informed decision. I am very proud of them all and it just gives us the confidence to know that when we welcome our first residents over the next few weeks that we are doing everything we can to protect them.’.
Littleton Lodge care home, situated on Bishop Street in Hednesford held its official open day last month and the team were delighted by the warm welcome they received from members of the community. The new state of the art care home will provide a safe and luxurious home for up to 66 residents and is proud to employ over 65 local people once fully staffed.
The well-appointed care home, which has received a £12 million investment, boasts many facilities, including a luxurious Sky Bar, a vintage tearoom complete with balcony area, a plush cinema room, on-site beauty parlour and relaxing botanical rooms which lead to spacious landscaped gardens.
Carer, Lisa Carr, who has recently completed a thorough induction period prior to the home opening, said, ‘I am extremely excited to soon be able to open the doors of our beautiful home and having the vaccine makes me feel as if a weight has been lifted and that I am doing everything I can to ensure everyone’s safety. I know our residents will benefit so much from our facilities and social programmes and I cannot wait to support them to live life to the full as part of the Littleton Lodge family!’.
