Staff and residents at Coppice Lodge care home in Arnold, operated by Ideal Carehomes, paid a visit to the Salvation Army recently, to donate a sack full of toys to their Christmas Present Appeal.
Each year, the Salvation Army collect new and unwrapped Christmas presents to distribute to local children who might not otherwise receive one.
This year, staff and residents from Coppice Lodge were determined to offer their support by asking their neighbours to donate Christmas toys, which people could drop-off at the home on Coppice Road.
A Salvation Army spokesperson said, ‘We have had such a wonderful response this year across the board. Thank you, Coppice Lodge, we are so grateful for your donation – we are going to some very happy boys and girls!’
Staff and residents at Coppice Lodge took the gifts to donate to the Salvation Army church in Arnold.
81-year-old resident, June Tait, said, ‘I love that we have helped the Salvation Army, it’s so wonderful to have helped all those less fortune children and their families. Christmas is so magical to children.’
Alex Field, the Home Manager at Coppice Lodge, was grateful to their local community for supporting the Christmas Present Appeal. She continued,
‘Our community have always been there for our home and residents, and Christmas is a very testing time for some families, so we were more than happy to help with this appeal in any way we could.
‘Thank you to all who donated – you’ve made a huge difference to a lot of people this Christmas!’
