Luxury residential and dementia care home, Millcroft, are honouring their ‘Local Heroes’ in Redditch this Christmas, with their own community award.
Since the home opened in October, the staff and residents at Millcroft have been visiting their neighbours and nearby businesses to get to know the community.
Impressed by some of the incredible community members they met, Millcroft decided to hold a ‘Local Hero’ competition, where the people of Redditch can nominate those who they feel go above and beyond for others in the area.
94-year-old resident, Mary Foster, said, ‘I think the Local Hero competition is a really good idea. Its lovely to give back to the community and thank people for going above and beyond, especially at Christmas time.
‘I would like to say a big thank you to all those special people in the area of Redditch for going the extra mile, just like those who help me at Millcroft.’
The Home Manager at Millcroft, Lyndsay Sard, said, ‘We’ve had such a warm welcome from our community, and we can’t thank everyone enough for the support we’ve already received. The Local Hero award is our way of saying thank you.
‘To nominate your Local Hero, all you have to do is send us a message via Facebook or email telling us why you’ve chosen your nominee. Our winner will receive a £100 high street voucher and a goodie bag from everyone here at Millcroft!’
Lyndsay and the team will announce their Local Hero live on their Facebook page on 22nd December at 11:00. You can send in your nominations to millcroft@idealcarehomes.co.uk.
