Cannock School Children Carve Halloween Pumpkins with Care Home Residents
Students from Poppyfield Primary Academy in Cannock paid a visit to Littleton Lodge care home recently, to help the residents carve their own Halloween pumpkins.
The Littleton Lodge residents welcomed the school children into their vintage tearoom, where they got to work scooping out their pumpkins, to be displayed around the care home.
The group had lots of fun, creating different faces in their pumpkins and sharing their favourite Halloween memories. 86-year-old Margaret Moore said,
‘It was a lovely afternoon and brought back so many memories of when my children were little kids at Halloween. It was a pleasure being able to do this again with the children from Poppy Fields, and I can’t wait to show off our pumpkins at our Halloween party!’
The Home Manager at Littleton Lodge, Dan Feneysey, said ‘Our residents love to see the children from Poppy Fields Primary Academy, and it’s great to see the generations come together.
‘You’ll be able to spot all the pumpkin creations around our home at our Halloween party on 31st October, where we’ll be inviting the community to get dressed up and join in on lots of fun and games – everyone is welcome!’
Littleton Lodge’s Halloween party will take place at the home on Cannock Chase from 16:30.
