Children in Worcester Royal Hospital’s Riverbank Ward were recently surprised with a visit from Marvel’s ‘Spiderman’ and Disney’s ‘Elsa’ from the Doorstep Princesses, courtesy of Woodland View care home in Droitwich Spa.
The Doorstep Princesses are an entertainment company in Worcestershire, with a team of professional performers portraying over 80 beloved characters from family films and television.
Representatives from Woodland View, Lisa Dews, the Home Manager, and Carla Sidaway, the Front of House Manager, took Spiderman and Elsa to visit each child on the ward.
Sheena Madison, a Playworker on the Riverbank Ward, said,
‘It was lovely that Woodland View organised the visit, and Spiderman was a huge hit! It was absolutely wonderful and really brightened the spirits of the children on the ward.’
Lisa Dews commented, ‘A random act of kindness goes a long way, and we’re always looking for ways to spread joy in our community.’
‘It was a pleasure to see the children laughing and smiling when they met Spiderman and Elsa, and our residents at Woodland View loved looking through the photos we took. We hope to visit the children again very soon to create more lasting memories with them.’
Woodland View are proud to be sponsoring the Worcestershire Carnival Charity Event on 1st July 2023, and look forward to celebrating with their own ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed float, ‘Alice in Woodland View’.
