Residents from Littleton Lodge care home in Cannock had an egg-cellent time when children from Poppyfield Primary Academy joined them for an Easter egg hunt.
Staff and residents hid the chocolate eggs, which were generously donated by Bellway Homes, around the care home for the children to find and take home.
Afterwards, the children competed in an egg and spoon race as residents spectated, cheering them on from the side lines.
86-year-old resident, Betty Ayres, said,
‘It was so lovely spending time with the children. I really enjoyed having them here and I hope they come back to see me soon; it reminded me of all the fun we used to have at Easter time with my children and grandchildren.’
Mrs Scordis, the Headteacher at Poppyfield Primary Academy, said the children had a brilliant time. She added,
‘It was such a pleasure to join the residents of Littleton Lodge for their very special Easter egg hunt. The children were absolutely delighted!’
The Home Manager at Littleton Lodge, Julie Anderson, commented,
‘We had a fantastic time with the children from Poppyfield Primary Academy and the lovely people from Bellway Homes. Our residents had so much fun helping the kids look for Easter eggs, and it was great to see the two generations forming such strong bonds.
‘We can’t wait to invite them back into our home for another celebration!’
