Annette Bunney, the Lifestyle Manager at Mountview care home, operated by Ideal Carehomes, has been awarded the ‘Lifestyle Manager of the Year’ award at the Ideal Care Awards 2022.
The Ideal Care Awards were created in 2019 to recognise, reward and pay tribute to staff at Ideal Carehomes who constantly go above and beyond in their roles.
After receiving over 1000 nominations across 14 categories, including Resident Outstanding Contribution, Care Team Member of the Year, and Beyond the Call of Duty, a panel of judges chose a group of finalists for each category.
Those finalists were invited to a ‘dress to impress’ gala dinner at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, where the judges announced the winners of each award. The announcements were live streamed on the Ideal Care Awards Facebook page for the finalists’ friends, families, colleagues, and residents to watch.
After revealing that Annette had won the ‘Lifestyle Manager of the Year’ award, the Ideal Care Awards judges praised Annette for ‘championing person-centred activities for her residents, making every day a memorable one’.
Annette joined the Mountview team in 2021, organising personalised daily activities and regular day trips for the residents in the home. Annette said,
‘What can I say but a huge thank you to Ideal Carehomes for the vote of confidence in me. It is very humbling to be given an award like this and I am still touched that so many people voted for me.
‘I love everything about my job, from the one-to-one sessions with residents to the fabulous celebrations we share. The residents at Mountview teach me so much and being able to bring them joy is what motivates me to get up every day. I love what I do, I love my residents and I love my family here at Mountview.’
