Residents from Launton Grange care home in Bicester were left beaming when two special guests from Dinky Ponies popped in for a visit.
Dinky Ponies brought two of their Shetland ponies to the care home to meet the residents giving them the opportunity to interact and have a cuddle with the animals.
87-year-old resident and animal lover, Tom Say said, ‘I really loved being part of this day! Seeing these ponies will be a memory I will hold forever.’
Another resident, 89-year-old June Walker, couldn’t believe her eyes, adding, ‘I always love everything Launton Grange does for us, but I especially like it when animals come in. I’ve seen snakes, bearded dragons, dogs, lambs, chickens and now ponies! I wonder what I will see next…’
Sara Reading, the Home Manager at Launton Grange, said, ‘The residents faces were a picture when they saw the ponies trotting through our care home!
It was such a joy to watch them interacting with the ponies, and they couldn’t stop talking about it for the rest of the day.’
Staff and residents are inviting their local community to the home on Saturday 5th August for their Summer Fete. From 11:00, all are welcome to enjoy live entertainment, a BBQ, stalls from local businesses, a bouncy castle, and lots of fun and games.
