Residents and staff members from Woodland View care home paid a visit to Droitwich Spa Food Bank recently to donate goods collected in the home.
After visiting the food bank earlier in the year, the residents at Woodland View were determined to support the charity, who had seen a large decrease in donations this year.
86-year-old resident, Rosemary Harries, said, ‘I think it’s wonderful to reach out and help people.
‘There are unfortunately a lot of people who rely on food banks so to think that they don’t have enough to go round is heartbreaking. Well done to everyone who stepped in to help a great cause!’
Sue David-Foster from Droitwich Spa Foodbank commented, ‘We are so grateful to receive the things we need to continue providing for those in need – every bit counts, so thank you so much!’
Lisa Dews, the Home Manager at Woodland View, added, ‘I am very proud of our team members, residents and their families for offering their incredible support to Droitwich Spa Foodbank, who help so many people in our community.
‘We look forward to seeing them again soon to continue our support.’
Woodland View is inviting over 65’s in the local area to their Coffee Afternoon on the last Thursday of each month. From 14:45, over 65’s are welcome for a cuppa, homemade cake and a chat.
