Woodland View care home in Droitwich Spa is giving back to key workers in the community through their weekly Blue Light Breakfast.
Each Friday, staff and residents in the care home are welcoming key workers to enjoy a breakfast sandwich, a hot drink and a chat, as a thank you for their work in the community.
On the launch day of the Blue Launch Breakfast in February, members of the White Watch at Droitwich Fire Station paid a visit to the home. A spokesperson said,
‘We felt very much welcomed by the staff and residents at Woodland View and loved having a brew and a sandwich. It was great to get out and spread the home fire safety advice to staff and residents as well. Thank you for having us, Woodland View!’
100-year-old resident, Edna ‘Noddy’ Warner, was delighted to meet the White Watch, and especially enjoyed seeing the fire engine. She said,
‘It was lovely to meet and greet some of the firemen, and for them to sit with us for a while. Seeing the fire truck up close was very exciting.’
Woodland View is looking forward to welcoming more key workers to their Blue Light Breakfast in the coming weeks.
Ilze Careless, the Regional Director at Woodland View, said,
‘We’re so grateful to our emergency service workers, who do such an amazing job keeping our community safe. This is our way of thanking them and showing them our gratitude.’
Woodland View’s Blue Light Breakfast will take place every Friday from 10:00 until 11:30 for all key workers in the area at Woodland View care home, Woodland Way, Droitwich, WR9 7FX.
