Woodland View care home in Droitwich Spa is gearing up to host a ‘Mini Meet’ in aid of Dementia UK.
On 21st August 2022 at 10:30, Mini enthusiasts are invited to the care home to show off their rides, talk all things Mini, and meet staff and residents.
For £5 per ticket, attendees will also be able to enjoy a coffee and a bacon sandwich. Tickets can be purchased from the care home reception, or on the day of the event. And all proceeds will be donated to Dementia UK.
Carer and Activities Coordinator at Woodland View, Sarah-Jayne Pinder, has been a Mini enthusiast since she was 18-years-old, when she bought her first car. She said,
‘My first car was a Mini, and my passion has been unrelenting ever since. Life is too short for boring cars!’
91-year-old resident, Evelyn Long, is also looking forward to seeing a parade of Minis at Woodland View. She said,
‘I gave up my beloved motorbike and bought a Mini when I found out I was going to be a mother, which was more appropriate for a baby! My husband and I travelled all over the country in it.’
The Home Manager at Woodland View, Cindy Hawkins, said she is ‘excited to be welcoming the community’ to the home. She continued,
‘This is the first event of its kind for Woodland View, and I know our residents will absolutely love it. All are welcome, the more the merrier – it’s always a pleasure to invite new people to our home.
‘We also really want to raise as much money as possible for Dementia UK, a charity that lies close to our hearts.’
