Staff and residents at Sedgley Court care home in Dudley are getting ready for their first Open Week on Monday 22nd August.
During Open Week, Sedgley Court will invite local community to their home to enjoy a variety of activities. Visitors will also be able to tour the home, speak to the staff and meet the residents.
Open Week will kick-off with arts and crafts at 11:00 in the care home on Monday, with live music from local singer, VJ, from 14:30.
On Tuesday, families are invited to a Teddy Bears Picnic at 11:00, and an Afternoon Tea Dance at 14:00.
The home will host ’Sedgley Seaside’ on Wednesday from 11:00. Staff, residents and the local community can enjoy a beach experience, with a special Punch and Judy show.
Visitors and dog owners can join the care home’s residents for a Dog Show at 14:00 on Thursday. The public are welcome to show off their pups in various categories, including ‘prettiest pup’ and ‘best dressed dog’.
On Friday, all are welcome to take part in the Helping Hands garden challenge from 11:00, where the public can share their gardening knowledge and get green-fingered with the residents and staff.
Kim Dean, the Home Manager at Sedgley Court, said,
‘We can’t wait to welcome the community to our home – all of the residents and staff are really excited. We have a week jam-packed full of family activities – perfect for the summer holidays!’
As the week draws to an end, the home will throw a Family Fun Day for the public. On Saturday 27th August, the Dudley community are welcome to enjoy a day of family fun, with a BBQ, games, a bouncy castle, live entertainment and much more!
