Dudley Care Home Residents Celebrate Love this Valentine’s Day with Heartfelt Reflections

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Sedgley Court has launched a heart warming campaign that invites residents to reflect on what love means to them.

The initiative aimed to explore the various interpretations of love from the residents themselves, with staff engaging everyone in meaningful conversations about their experiences, cherished memories, and personal definitions of love.

91-year-old resident, Lillian Lamb, offered her perspective, saying, “I think love is when you find that person. I also love my family and friends.”

Barbara Dunnet (95) also shared her reflections, noting, “I think love holds a great deal of importance, you can’t do without it. Love is not the same for everyone.”

Emma Chaffe, the Home Manager at Sedgley Court, added, “Love makes the world go round, it’s important to everyone, and it certainly doesn’t stop when you move into a care home.

“At Sedgley Court, we think it’s imperative to encourage residents to talk about their treasured memories about their loved ones – it’s a great way to form meaningful friendships.”
