Residents from Hepworth House care home in Wakefield are looking forward to inviting local children to their Half Term Family Funday on Sunday 11th February from 10:00.
All are welcome to a family friendly film showing in the home’s luxury cinema room, complete with fresh popcorn and refreshments, followed by a packed lunch.
In the afternoon, it’s time to unleash your creative side in an intergenerational craft session with the Hepworth House residents and their families.
71-year-old resident, Catherine Harley, said, ‘I spent many years teaching young children and helping them learn. To see their little faces makes me so happy!’
Helen Batty, the Home Manager at Hepworth House, added, ‘Inviting our community to intergenerational activities like our Family Funday brings our residents so much joy, sparking so many happy memories from their own family lives.
‘Visiting care homes can also help children with their social skills – they learn how to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds, and benefit from our residents’ experiences. We’re sure it’ll be a brilliant day for all!’
