Two staff members from Foley Grange care home in Kidderminster challenged themselves to walk a marathon in one day, fundraising for Kemp Hospice.
Michelle Reaves (Senior Night Carer) and Holli Whitehouse (Activities Coordinator) completed the 26.34 mile challenge in just over eight hours, all the while chanting, ‘What do we do? We walk!’.
Michelle and Holli raised £520 in total for Kemp Hospice, which will contribute towards the specialist care the hospice provides for patients and their families.
Holli and Michelle said, ‘We wanted to raise awareness of the support and services that Kemp Hospice provides. The challenge was great fun, and we’re so pleased to have built a relationship with this extremely worthy charity.’
Michelle Pilgrim, the Home Manager at Foley Grange, added, ‘The residents and team members in our home are so proud of Michelle and Holli for tackling this huge challenge in aid of Kemp Hospice.
‘We’d all like to say a huge well done to these fantastic ladies – you’re an inspiration!’
You can meet Holli, Michelle and the residents at Foley Grange at the home’s monthly Come Dine With Me event, where over 65’s in the community are welcome to join the residents for lunch. The next Come Dine With Me lunch will take place on Wednesday 6th November.
