Kings Court Care Home Unveil Community Defibrillator After Year of Fundraising
Staff and residents from Kings Court care home in Newark are ‘beyond proud’ to have raised over £1200 for a brand-new community defibrillator.
The home had dedicated their fundraising efforts to the cause since opening in April 2023, including a charity Open Day and a sponsored walk.
The defibrillator was fitted close to the carpark entrance on the Kings Court building shortly after residents and staff celebrated the home’s first anniversary with the community.
An access code to the defibrillator will be given by the ambulance service when a member of the public calls 999.
Tarnya Fairburn, the Home Manager at Kings Court, said,
‘The support we have received from our local community has been incredible, and we are beyond proud to be able to give back in this way.
‘As well as our new friends and neighbours, I’d also like to give special thanks to our expert fundraiser, Julie King, who is part of our care team for organising our fantastic fundraising events.’
98-year-old Kings Court resident, Joy Samuels, commented, ‘This is an amazing achievement and will save lives if its ever needed. It’s a very good cause to have raised money for.’
