Leicester care home, Bradley Hall, have been spreading joy to people in their community whose friends and neighbours felt deserved a little luxury.
Using Facebook to reach out to local people, staff and residents at Bradley Hall asked the public to nominate individuals who they thought deserved a treat.
Once the nominations were in, each Friday, a representative from Bradley Hall would visit a chosen nominee and present them with a beautiful hamper full of goodies.
One such nominee was Christine Deary, who was nominated by her daughter. She said,
‘I was very surprised when I answered the door! I feel very lucky. After an extremely difficult year, I thought nothing would make me smile, but this did. I hope everyone else who received a hamper felt as happy as I did.’
Hampers were also delivered to the local Emergency Services teams, like the Leicestershire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service as a special thank you for their work.
Lee Daly, the Home Manager at Bradley Hall, said,
“We wanted to give a few luxury items, that people may not get for themselves during these hard winter months. It’s brought so many people together and put lots of smiles on everyone’s faces – we’ve made some lasting friendships”.
Bradley Hall is inviting their community to a CQC Celebration on Friday 3rd March, in honour of the home’s second CQC rating of ‘GOOD’. All are welcome to attend and enjoy live entertainment and refreshments with residents and staff in the home.
The CQC Celebration will take place from 15:00 at Bradley Hall care home, 120 Beaumont Leys Lane, Beaumont Leys, Leicester, LE4 2BD.
Bradley Hall, operated by Ideal Carehomes, has 60 en-suite bedrooms, enabling staff to deliver person-centred care in a dignified manner, promoting independence as far as possible. Bradley Hall offers an all-inclusive fee, designed to give residents and their families peace of mind without having the worry of any extra costs.
