Littleton Lodge Residents ‘Knit, Stitch and Natter’ for Walsall Manor Hospital’s Neo-Natal Unit
Residents from Littleton Lodge care home’s Knit, Stitch and Natter Club in Cannock have been putting their skills to the test in support of the Neo-Natal Unit (NNU) at Walsall Manor Hospital.
One Littleton Lodge resident in particular, Ann Nelson, proposed hand-delivering the group’s knitted baby clothing herself alongside the home’s Front of House Manager, Soni Atwal.
Ann said, ‘My three children were all born prematurely at Walsall Manor Hospital, and I remember how touched I felt when I received lovingly knitted clothing for them during what was such a difficult time.
‘I was over the moon that I got the chance to meet the team at the hospital to deliver our hamper full of knitting. It’s our way of supporting the parents, and I can’t praise the Walsall Manor Hospital team enough for the work they do.’
Michelle Bywater, the Home Manager at Littleton Lodge, added, ‘Our residents and team members are so appreciative of the hospitals and services in our community, and Ann especially speaks so passionately about Walsall Manor Hospital.
‘It was a pleasure to meet the Neo-Natal team and hand over this very special hamper, which was made with so much love by our Knit, Stitch and Natter Club.’
All are welcome to join the Knit, Stitch and Natter Club every other Tuesday from 10:30 until 12:00 at Littleton Lodge, Bishop Street, Hednesford, Cannock, WS12 4HT. The next club meet will take place on Tuesday 19th March.
