Greenacres care home in Meltham is proud to be sponsoring Laund Hill Football Club in Huddersfield.
The club’s teams, who practice at Laund Hill Community Club, couldn’t wait to show the residents and staff at Greenacres their new football kits, displaying the home’s name on the front.
96-year-old resident, Jean Beaumont, commented, ‘It’s great that we can support a local team of young players, and it’s so good for them to be involved in sport. We are looking forward to going to watch them play a home game.’
Coach Phil Birkhead said, ‘Football has always been, and continues to be, a huge passion of mine. It brings communities together, and teaches vital skills in teamwork, sportsmanship, and athleticism.
‘We’re so grateful to the residents and staff at Greenacres for sponsoring our team and supporting us to continue our important work in the community, and we hope to see them at the pitch very soon.’
