Brand-new luxury care home, Kings Court, raised over £500 at their official Open Day to contribute towards a community defibrillator.
Named in honour of the coronation of King Charles III, Kings Court is situated on Flaxley Lane in Middlebeck, Newark.
During the Open Day, guests were given a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities and treated to a homemade buffet from the home’s kitchen team. Special guest, Mayor Councillor Laurence Goff, helped to officially open the home, and said,
‘It was good to open such an impressive care home. I was struck by how much has been done to be environmentally friendly throughout. I hope that the location by a school will lead to good links between the generations, as both young and old have much to learn from the other.’
To fundraise for the defibrillator, the team at Kings Court held a raffle and plenty of games for visitors to take part in, such as ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake’ and ‘Water or Wine’.
The Home Manager at Kings Court, Tarnya Fairburn, said,
‘It was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful people from our community during the Open Day, and an honour to welcome Mayor Councillor Laurence Goff. We’re proud to say we are now officially open, and we’re very excited to welcome our first residents!
‘Thank you to everyone who visited our new home and helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for a defibrillator in Middlebeck. Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for updates on our progress.’
