Bowbridge Court care home in Newark are supporting their community by offering monthly home-cooked lunches for over 65’s in the area, free of charge.
On the second Wednesday of each month, the over 65s community will be welcomed to Bowbridge Court to have lunch with the residents. Each month, the lunch’s theme will change so diners can experience different foods from around the world.
The first lunch will take place on Wednesday 9th August from 12:30, with an ‘English Seaside’ theme. Guests will be able to enjoy traditional, homemade fish and chips.
101-year-old resident, Edna Dobney, said, ‘It will be lovely to try different foods from around the world as I have never been out of the country. I am also looking forward to meeting others, getting to know them, and sharing their experiences.’
Sara Scott, the Home Manager at Bowbridge Court, said, ‘We’re always looking for new ways to offer a helping hand to our local community, so we hope this gives people something to look forward to each month. Our residents are really looking forward to meeting everyone!’
