Newark Care Home named ‘Home of the Year’ in Annual Awards Ceremony

Bowbridge Court care home in Newark, operated by Ideal Carehomes, has been celebrating their recent triumph at the annual Ideal Care Awards 2022, where they scooped up the Home of the Year Award.

The Ideal Care Awards were created in 2019 to recognise, reward and pay tribute to staff at Ideal Carehomes who constantly go above and beyond in their roles.

After receiving over 1000 nominations across 14 categories, including Resident Outstanding Contribution, Care Team Member of the Year, and Beyond the Call of Duty, a panel of judges chose a group of finalists for each category.

Those finalists were invited to a ‘dress to impress’ gala dinner at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, hosted by Bobby Davro, where the judges announced the winners of each award. The announcements were live streamed on the Ideal Care Awards Facebook page for the finalists’ friends, families, colleagues, and residents to watch.

After revealing that Bowbridge Court had won Home of the Year, the Ideal Care Awards judges praised the home for its ‘wonderful feel’. They continued,

‘This home has been on a journey and has come out on top!  The Bowbridge Court residents are involved in the decisions that are made about the home and team morale has never been higher. The team and their residents are in it together, and that ethos comes from the Home Manager and is echoed throughout.’

Since opening in 2012, Bowbridge Court has thrived, hosting regular events such as coffee mornings and support groups, raising money for various charities, and playing a key role in their community.

The team at Bowbridge Court will be inviting their community into the home for their tenth birthday party, where guests look forward to traditional party games like pass the parcel and musical statues, live entertainment, a party food buffet and, of course, a birthday cake.

The Home Manager at Bowbridge Court, Sarah Barnes, said,

‘We are incredibly proud and humbled to have won Home of the Year at the Ideal Care Awards. In true Bowbridge Court style, we have overcome every challenge that has come our way over the last year, so to have our hard work and dedication recognised in this way means a lot to us all.’
