Rothley care home, Mountview, recently held their annual Summer Fair for residents, staff and the local community.
The celebration proved to be the perfect family fun day out, with a bouncy castle, face-painting, games, stalls from local businesses and families, and even a visit from a dinosaur!
The Mountview kitchen team cooked a delicious BBQ for all in attendance, which was followed by a surprise visit from the Mr Frost ice cream van.
Local singer, Kerry Jean, provided live music throughout the day, performing upbeat songs for all to sing and dance along to while enjoying the sun.
Community member, Janice Cotton, said, “It was a fantastic day, I was very impressed with the home and the services on offer here. The singer was fantastic, the weather was great – what more could you have asked for?”
Joining in with the fun, the Home Manager at Mountview, Stacie Weaver, volunteered herself and her staff to be soaked with a hosepipe by their guests and residents. Stacie said,
‘What a tremendous day and turn out, we are really thankful for those that visited us on the day. It was lovely to see so many happy faces in and around the garden – it was really a day to remember for us and our residents.’
92-year-old resident, Edna Colton, said,
“It was a lovely day. My daughter and son in law came to enjoy the day with me, and the entertainment was fantastic. It was rather funny when Stacie got soaked with the hosepipe!”
