Larkhill Hall care home, located on Muirhead Avenue East in West Derby, are getting ready to hold their first festival, Larkfields.
Larkfields Festival will kick-off at 12:00 on Saturday 13th August in the care home’s gardens. With a bouncy castle, games, and face painting, it’s set to be the perfect family day out.
Guests will enjoy a delicious BBQ, as well as lots of other treats, including an ice cream van.
Local business’ will be holding their own stalls, selling personalised gifts, candles, crystals, jewellery and much more.
The festival will also host a Battle of the Bands competition throughout the afternoon, with residents from the home acting as judges. The winning band or artist will win a cash prize and 12 months’ worth of gigs in the home.
92-year-old resident and award-winning photographer, David Threlkeld, is especially looking forward to Larkfield Festival. He said,
‘I’m looking forward to covering the many activities on camera. I’m sure we will all enjoy taking part in what’s on offer.’
David prints his own work using photography equipment that has been set up for him in the care home. Some of his incredible work can be seen on display in the home’s foyer.
Christina Durnan, the Home Manager at Larkhill Hall, said,
‘We’ve been gearing up to put on a big event like this for a year now. It is massively important to us that Larkhill Hall feels like a place for community and fun, where people can come together for a great time.
‘Our residents are always thrilled when we have in entertainers so a day like Larkfield’s will be extremely well received.’
