Woodthorpe Lodge ‘Class Clown’ Shares Jokes on World Kindness Day
In honour of World Kindness Day, 84-year-old Michael Green from Woodthorpe Lodge care home in Loughborough has been sharing his favourite jokes with his fellow care home residents.
Displaying his jokes on the noticeboard and in the communal lounges in the home, wise-cracking Michael told the staff why he wanted to share his best puns and one-liners,
‘All my life I’ve tried to always look on the bright side, and sometimes people just need a bit of a laugh and a lift. I decided to write all my jokes down and put them up around the home to make everyone giggle!’
One of Michaels favourite jokes reads, ‘What do you get if you cross a lion with a dog? An absolutely terrified postman!’
Woodthorpe Lodge resident and friend of Michael’s, 96-year-old Alwyne Whitehead, said, ‘Michael is just so full of jokes, he always tried to make us laugh!’
Kate Day, the Home Manager at Woodthorpe Lodge, added, ‘Michael is such a big part of our Woodthorpe Lodge family, he always puts a smile on everyone’s faces.
‘We can’t think of anything better on World Kindness Day than to make other people laugh!’
Michael and the other residents at Woodthorpe Lodge are looking forward to welcoming their local community into their home for Woodthorpe Lodge’s Christmas Market on Saturday 9th December.
From 13:00, all will be welcome to join the residents at Woodthorpe Lodge to browse stalls from local businesses, festive fun and games, delicious refreshments and live music from saxophonist, Charlotte Atherton.
