Carehome manager: The residents love our activities. We have crafts in the tea rooms. We’ll go out for days out, go out for walks out , and go out for shopping trips.
Resident: There’s always something to do. It’s never quiet. I was sitting in my room, and we watched something up on a Sunday, which was absolutely brilliant. We watched a film the other week, and we were all there with tears streaming down our faces.
Carehome manager: Our residents are lovely. They’re all friendly. They’ve made relationships with each other and have made some great friends.
Resident: There’s one lady, she only came in last night, and she said it felt like we’ve known each other forever.
Other resident: I’ve got Violet; she is one lovely lady. We get on really well together.
Carehome manager: Coming into a care home can make people really nervous.
Another resident: Whatever it was that I was yearning for, this place provided me with what I was missing. I realized that there was a lot of love here.
Carehome manager: I’d say, come in, have a look around, see what we’re all about, see our facilities, and the things that our residents get up to. Have a cuppa. We’ve always got cakes in our cafe bar and feel comfortable in our surroundings.
